The Gainesville, Florida community is mourning the tragic and sudden loss of 23-year-old Dakota Cole, who was fatally injured in a motorcycle crash early Wednesday morning, March 11, 2026, on Southwest Archer Road.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, troopers and Alachua County Sheriff’s deputies responded just after 2:30 a.m. to the 5600 block of Southwest Archer Road, near Southwest 56th Terrace. Cole was traveling westbound in the left lane when he lost control of his motorcycle, was thrown from the vehicle, and collided with a westbound tanker truck driven by a 44-year-old man. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene. The westbound lanes of Southwest Archer Road were temporarily closed but have since reopened, while troopers continue to investigate the crash.
