GLENVILLE, PA — The community of Glenville is reeling from the tragic loss of John Gross, 61, who died following a devastating crash in York County on Thursday morning, March 12, 2026.

According to the Northern York County Regional Police Department, the fatal crash occurred around 6:35 a.m. in the 1700 block of Seven Valleys Road in North Codorus Township. Gross was driving a Ford F-150 northbound when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a tractor-trailer.

Emergency crews responded swiftly to the scene, where they found the tractor-trailer engulfed in flames. Despite the heroic efforts of first responders, Gross was pronounced dead at the scene by a York County deputy coroner.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 55-year-old man from Ohio, was en route to Shrewsbury to pick up a load of eggs at the time of the collision. Authorities report that the truck driver and his company have been fully cooperative with the ongoing investigation.
