HARRODSBURG, Ky. — The community of Harrodsburg is mourning the untimely loss of Jason McCarty, 44, who tragically passed away in a traffic collision on Louisville Road (US-127) in Mercer County on the morning of March 10, 2026.

According to the Kentucky State Police, Jason’s vehicle collided with a stationary Rumpke trash truck while it was stopped to collect waste. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Mercer County Coroner. The driver of the trash truck, Jeremy Caudill, 35, of Hustonville, Kentucky, was not injured.
