Kaden Melson Tragic Collision Greensburg, KY Obituary and Death: Gone Toom Soon
GREENSBURG, KY — The Greensburg community is reeling from the tragic loss of 14-year-old Kaden Melson, who passed away in a three-vehicle crash on Tuesday morning, March 10, 2026, on KY 88 in Green County. His sudden death has left family, friends, and neighbors heartbroken as they process the loss of a young life taken far too soon.
According to Kentucky State Police, troopers responded to the crash at approximately 9:10 a.m. CDT. Preliminary reports revealed that Kaden was driving a 2009 Subaru Forester westbound when he lost control while navigating a curve and crossed the center line. The Subaru sideswiped a 2006 GMC bucket truck driven by 54-year-old Patrick Elmore of Greensburg, before colliding head-on with a 2011 Ford F350 traveling eastbound, driven by 31-year-old Willie Mosier of Cookeville, Tennessee. The Ford truck caught fire, but Mosier was able to exit the vehicle safely before the flames reached the passenger compartment.
Kaden Melson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Green County Coroner. His passenger, 20-year-old Angelo Forsee of Russell Springs, was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital with serious injuries. Two other passengers, 32-year-old Adrian Crew of Columbia and 28-year-old Jacob Mann of Russell Springs, were treated for injuries at TJ Sampson Hospital. Both Elmore and Mosier were unharmed in the crash.
The Kentucky State Police Troopers were assisted by the Green County Sheriff’s Office, Green County Fire/EMS, Summersville Fire Department, Grab Fire Department, and the Green County Coroner’s Office. Senior Trooper Trevor Sagrecy is leading the ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.
Kaden Melson is being remembered by his family, friends, and the community for his bright spirit, kind heart, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. As Greensburg mourns this devastating loss, residents are coming together to support Kaden’s family and honor his memory. His legacy, though tragically cut short, will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
