Ruth Pridemore Vehicle Crash Huron County, Death, Obituary: In Loving Memory

The Huron County community is deeply saddened by the loss of Ruth Pridemore, 81, of Willard, Ohio, who was killed in a devastating four-vehicle crash on State Route 61 near milepost one in the Village of Plymouth on March 9, 2026. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of family, friends, and all who knew her.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 1:28 p.m. while roadwork was underway on the east side of State Route 61, with a flagger present to manage traffic. At the time, a 2017 Ram 1500 pickup driven by Michael Sexton, 55, of Shiloh, and a 2025 Toyota Rav 4 driven by Gurpreet Singh, 35, of Perrysburg, were stopped in the northbound lane. As Ruth, driving a 2024 Hyundai Tucson, slowed down approaching the stopped vehicles, she was struck from behind by a 2018 Ford F150 operated by Brian Mock, 50, of Crestline. The impact caused a chain reaction, pushing Pridemore’s vehicle into Singh’s Rav 4, which then struck Sexton’s Ram 1500.

Ruth Pridemore suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Although Sexton, Singh, and Mock sustained minor injuries, none required hospitalization. The incident has left the community reeling from the loss of a cherished member.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is leading the investigation, with assistance from local authorities and services, including the Plymouth Police Department, Plymouth Fire and EMS, and the Ohio Department of Transportation. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.

Ruth Pridemore will be remembered as a valued member of the Willard community, known for her kindness and dedication to others. Her family, friends, and neighbors are mourning her loss, and the community is offering heartfelt condolences and support to her loved ones during this difficult time.
